“I have a dream…. That one day I will not be judged by my appearance, but by the content of my character.”
2011 was a rollercoaster year at Urgent. Many friends were made…. some stayed and some have moved on, but their impact and memories will live forever.
The Urgent Community grew and we saw so many more animals making it out the NYC ACC alive. Each victory was celebrated as it if it was our first. New Beginnings brought us such happiness. To see our dogs in loving homes made all those long nights networking worth it.
The lows were very low and we all shed tears over the losses. We still mourn the ones we could not save and move forward in their memory to make sure that they did not die in vain.
As 2011 comes to a close and a new year begins, we are filled with HOPE. Hope that this will be the year we see an end to ADOPTABLE animals being killed. Hope that more people will realize the plight of the NYC shelter dog and step up to join us in this fight. Hope that owners will become responsible and stop the vicious cycle of overpopulation. Hope that 2012 will see the beginning of the end… the end of killing for space and the end of suffering.
Here is to 2012! We have an amazing crew and we love you all!! Thank you for joining the Urgent Family…. Best Wishes for a Safe and Happy New Year.
