It is always a morale boost to know that people are watching and appreciate the effort our volunteers put into the Urgent pages. These past few weeks, Urgent was recognized not once, but twice by the Cesar Millan Foundation. To know an organization as important as theirs has taken an interest in “us,” is not only exciting but amazing!
On October 25th, Urgent was chosen as the “Millan Foundation Pack Leader” :

“Founded in June, 2010 by Karen Pepp, Urgent Pets on Death Row (Urgent) has helped save the lives of thousands of shelter animals. The non-profit has grown from a one-woman organization, to a solid core of dedicated volunteers, and has advocated for close to 13,000 dogs through its website (UrgentPetsOnDeathRow.org) and Facebook page, Urgent Part 2. According to Pepp, over 9,600 of the dogs have been saved, with Urgent having played a direct role in roughly 2,000 of the saved dogs. Over the past two years, Urgent has grown and promotes awareness at events in New York City and surrounding areas. You can meet Karen and members of Team Urgent at their booth in Grand Central Station New York on 10/26; 11/2; 11/23; 11/30; 12/7; 12/28, between 11am-5pm. “Last year, animal rescue groups were added to National Animal Shelter Week in recognition for the vital role they play in filling the gap to help animals in need. We honor the work of the Urgent Pets on Death Row (Urgent) an all-volunteer, 501c3 charity, created in 2010, to advocate for the thousands of adoptable dogs and cats that are needlessly killed each year by Animal Care & Control of New York City (ACC). THANK YOU CESAR MILLAN FOUNDATION for sharing our story and for all the support you have given us over the past few months. We look forward to working with you in the future to help our homeless animals in NYC!
