Dear Urgent Part 2 Fans,
We, the dogs of the Brooklyn ACC, are writing to you with an ‘Urgent’ request! We could really use some treat donations right about NOW!
I don’t mean to sound rude, but many people choose to give us Milk Bones or other biscuit-style treats. Now, I know we are essentially beggars, and shouldn’t be choosers, but unless we are really starving (which, granted, a few of us are) we don’t really like to eat these! 🙁 They taste just like the gross kibble we are given twice or three times a day, and since most of us have colds or full blown kennel-cough, and are stressed and lonely, we can be picky about what we like to eat. Yummier treats keep us healthier, happier, and better behaved on our walks! They also help us look right into the lenses of those big, scary, flashing cameras the photographers have.
Treats we LOVE are jerky-style chicken strips (yum!) which you can get very cheaply at Costco (Waggin’ Train brand), dehydrated liver snacks (OMG, yum!), or anything soft and delicious-smelling. Please don’t break the bank though on super-expensive stuff, we really don’t benefit from organic or natural ingredients during our unfortunately short stays. Please consider donating some treats to our care center at 2336 Linden Boulevard Brooklyn, NY 11208 or if you are worried about donating directly you can contact volunteers Paula Rossi (the hot dog lady) or Sabrina Paige (the roast beef lady) and they will make sure your goodies get straight into our mouths in quantities as needed! They come as often as they can to hang out with us and take our pictures, and also have been spending a lot of their personal money on goodies for us! 🙁 We could also always use soft bedding, canned food, and rubber toys if you have any lying around. 🙂
Additionally, please consider becoming one of our heroes and volunteering at our care center! We all need walks, pictures, bios, and love and there are too few volunteers to give us all that we need. You will need to take several tedious classes before you can start but then you can come and snuggle with us as much as you like, and trust us, it will be very rewarding experience!
Thank you for all you do to help find us homes!

P.S. – The dogs did not want to mention it, but they could also really use some of those little bags that help pick up “what they leave behind” on the sidewalk 🙂
